So, I"m trying to listen to music through my headphones on my computer. Unfortunately, the headphone jack in my speakers doesn't work, so I plugged my headphones into the computer tower itself. However, when I do this, the audio still comes out of the speakers.

What do?(I'm on a Vista)

Unplug the speakers.

Unplug the speakers.

That would be awfully impractical to do everytime consider the fact that I have to reach over and behind my desk and locate the correct cord and then re-plug it in everytime.

Yeah, but doesn't your tower have ports in the front? (like every pc needs to have)

Yes, the headphones plug in there, but the speakers go in the back.

I think you just have to turn the speakers off.

How would I go about doing that?

Well assuming your speakers are external, there's probably a volume knob or something on one of the speakers that when turned all the way down will click and turn off.
