if you don't know what it is, it's a section in the wii shop channel where you can buy classic nintendo games here's a list of games they have http://www.nintendo.com/wii/virtualconsole/games

i bought:

Bomberman
Excite Bike
and Kirby's Adventure

and my older brother recently convinced me to buy Street Fighter (i love you blanka) so he could kick my ass in it. (during the 90's he'd play that game 24/7)

i love old fashioned games

have any of you bought any games from there?

Wow I feel like a spoiled bitch =|. That money is more than the wii even costs and I could have saved that for college :(

My dad bought us 1000 wii points with the wii for us all to share but my brother just bought the internet channel and the mario game, I think the mario game was a waste, and he is the only one who uses the internet channel:mad:

MarioFan I cannot believe you hate Toejam & Earl. I absolutely loved that game for the Sega Genesis, the quirky nature of it combined with the seemingly "we were high when we made this" collection of enemies (soccer mom with crying baby in a shopping cart, monster mail box, and Santa Claus to name a few) made it one of my favorite titles. The sequels were absolutely atrocious but the original was great.

I don't own a Wii but if I did I wouldn't have much use for the VC, I already own most of the classics in their original form.

However I have been noticeably upset with their lack of Earthbound and Zombies Ate My Neighbors on the VC.

i heard from someone somewhere that he thinks they are going to add earthbound or something about a rating thing added, the same thing they did with sin and punishment(may have the name wrong to lazy to look it up)

but that sounds like some crazy conspiracy if you ask me

I'm really pissed off at Nintendo to be honest. Well not really pissed but definitely disappointed because they took the greatest idea ever (legal emulation on your TV) and squandered it by an ABYSMAL release schedule and refuse to enhance the emulation by any margin. Lemme go into detail on these points, since they're not as clear as you would think.

1. Release schedule: Yeah getting rights to release third-party titles from companies who either no longer exist or are part of a monster corporation now is a pain in the butt, but Nintendo has quite a few titles that they themselves haven't released yet. Have you seen the N64 section? It's PITIFUL, and Nintendo was the main pub/dev on that system, don't even tell me the N64 VC library is so small because of a rights issue .

2. Emulator enhancements: I don't mean like "OH SPEED AND SOUND AREN'T ACCURATE ENOUGH" (except for River City Ransom, more like Chug City Rapewallet, what a damn disappointment) but where's our MarioPaint? Yeah there's a mouse for the Wii it's called THE WIIMOTE! WHERE'S DUCKHUNT, YOU CAN USE THE WIIMOTE AS A LIGHTGUN! ZSNES has had great SuperFX simulation for YEARS, why don't you buy their code and add Yoshi's Island, Star Fox and Stunt Race FX already?

Nintendo just doesn't care about their history anymore, and it's a damn shame.

I actually own a Wii now, and I own Kirby's Adventure and Super Mario Bros 3 for Virtual Console.... and then I installed Homebrew Channel and I loaded an SD card full of NES, Genesis, GB/GBA, SNES, and all sorts of other ROMs to play.

And fucking Tyrian. Holy shit Tyrian.

Won't the Wii U also not be compatible with Wii games?

Edit: Oh, won't play Gamecube games, will not attempt to boost Wii games with graphics and all that.
