I have never had any interest in Star Trek at all, but the movie looks awesome(similar to my story with Transformers).

I liked the Plot, they made it so its different from the other movies.

is it any good? go see it and you will see. better than kirk sitting in a chair thinking of how awesome he is for an hour. the plot is pretty cool, but you really have to pay attention to get it.
imo, the best character in the movie is scotty. he had me laughing more than once.
over all, a big :greatjob: to J.J. Abrams.

Star trek is supposedly the best series revival since "Batman Begins".

From what I've observed its received mostly high marks from film critics, that and it looks danged cool.

I heard they've remained very true to the Star Trek back story. Once again, the guy in red dies. There is little deviation at all.

The premise is the same as all other star trek movies. Some evil alien dude has some sort of super doomsday weapon and the heroes most stop him from using it.

But they did have similarities.

OF COURSE IT WAS BETTER THAN THOSE MOVIES.
IT PWNED THEM INTO SMALL PIECES.
