I'm really happy about New Super Mario Bros Wii. Dissapointed that Zelda and Star Fox and F-Zero and all those other series that Nintendo seems to enjoy ignoring these days weren't announced.

But it's definitely better than last year... this year their focus is at least on the core gamer.

Even without Zelda, I think their conference was pretty good. Two classic Mario games and a new Metroid by Team Ninja? Sounds good to me. I didn't like that pulse reader thing (at least not Iwata's ideas for its usage). I think it could work quite well in the new Silent Hill game or an Eternal Darkness-like game.

i was really expecting a lot more from nintendo this year. it wasn't bad, but it certainly wasn't up with sony and microsoft. the super marios side scroller(the ONLY way mario bros/sonic the hedgehog should be made!!!) should be awesome, and metroid looks great as usual, but other than that it wasn't anything real spectacular.

Living in the past much? The original Super Mario Galaxy is the most acclaimed game of this generation. It trumps every other Mario game out there, that's for sure.

That's a lie and a half. The very first Mario games are the best because they don't have 24324 new characters who then get their own game and end up in Mario Kart and Super Smash Brothers. Nintendo needs to think of a new game for once other than a plumber in red.

Super Mario Galaxy has Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Bowser, and the mushroom men, the same characters from all the classic Mario games.

You can't even group Smash Bros and Mario Kart in with the traditional Mario games anyways. One is a crossover fighting game and the other is a racing game.

Even better is the fact that I wasn't talking about those games at all, I was talking about Galaxy, and only Galaxy.

galaxy is fun, till you get bored of it. side scrollers on the other are pretty much near impossible to get bored of. and i could give a damn about how "acclaimed" a game is, i'm looking to please only my self and just wasn't 'blown away' or anything by galaxy(or a lot of newer nintendo games for that matter).

I completely agree with that statement. Mario Galaxy not only shows that the Wii is capable of stunning graphics, but it also shows that 3D platformers can still be amazing.

i've only played it at a friends house, but never really could get in to it enough to consider buying it. not saying that its a bad game, just not for me.

Yeah, it's definitely one of the best looking games on the Wii. I'd go so far as to say it's my favorite game ever.

You have to play it from the start and for a long time after that, and really take into account how unique and crazy the game is to fully appreciate it. What part of the game did you play?
