View Full Version : "Security Token" Error - Post your encounters here.

It seems that some users are running into a vBulletin error that says "security token" when you are editing your profile or changing settings. We have been unable to replicate this error so it's puzzling us here at GatorAIDS. If you run into this error, please post in here with exactly what you were doing before it came up, that way we can test what you were doing and see if we can find the source of the problem.

Just a sidenote, it appears though that it does save your settings and profile when you get the error.

When I click User CP and it goes to the main User CP page - I have to click something on the navigation bar at the side before it comes up (It comes up around 3 seconds after it redirects you to the main User CP page).

When I click "User CP" that is what happens. When I was activated, it allowed me to edit my profile once, but after I started posting, it wouldn't.

EDIT: It works if you click really fast.

I have figured out how to add an avvy/sig when you have the error message there.
Add someone to your buddy list, then you'll be redirected towards your User CP.

If you're quick enough, when the UCP is about to load and the error is about to appear, click your stop button and you should be able to fiddle with your avatar and profile.

Yeah I got this message - Your submission could not be processed because a security token was missing.

If this occurred unexpectedly, please inform the administrator and describe the action you performed before you received this error.

It is happening whenever I click anything. It is getting annoying, I can't browse the site at all.

To those having it when you click User CP, click one of the navigation buttons at the side before the notice comes up. If the notice comes up straight away, just keep trying.

When I go to my User Control Panel, the control panel flashes up, then goes to the security token message, so I have to click 'User CP' then whatever I want really quickly. :(

When you go into your User CP stop the page to stop it going to the token page. It works. :)

I totally forgot to post this, I had this "security token" problem in vBulletin 3.7 before, after I installed and made a theme default, a security token problem came up, asked a support thingy on vBulletin and they told me it was probably the skin I was using causing the "Security token" error.

Dracophile, you could ask vBSkins.com to fix the security token error, that might solve the problem.

Yes, I had a forum back then, but I quit on that forum I owned because of shitty users.

We've been able to pinpoint the cause of this to a skinning error on the forums, to combat this you may now select "Default" from the very bottom of the page.

The forums will look like shit but they will work. In the mean time we are going to be remodeling a new skin that will work on these forums.
