Of the eight topics we have going in this subforum, three are for DBZ, Bleach, and motherfucking Naruto. I think it's time some of us expanded our tastes beyond what's on Hot Topic t-shirts and Adult Swim and started foraging into the hardcore.

Here are a few non-mainstream titles to catch your fancy.

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haruhi_Suzumiya) - Adapted from a series of novels. It's not a drama, it's not comedy, it's not romance. It's something that can only be experienced, like an acid trip.

Lucky Star (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lucky_Star_(manga)) - Adapted from a comic strip, a "slice of life" anime with neon bright colors, from the same creators of Haruhi. The favorite character Konata is a cute girl who likes good video games for what they are - works of art.

Wolf's Rain (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wolf's_Rain) - A serious, tearjerking tale about the clash between wolves and humans. Wolves walk among people as fellow humans by mindfucking them somehow. Beautiful animation.

Digimon Adventure (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digimon_Adventure) - Not that new, but fuck you, it's great. Digimon was in America way before Pokémon, might I add.

Ouran High School Host Club (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ouran_High_School_Host_Club) - Skip this if you're a guy. This is a show about beautiful boys seducing squealing girls with homosexual antics at an upscale private school. Ouran will probably end up being badly tainted by the fanbase once the dub is complete.

FLCL (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flcl) - A 6-episode series that is unique and fresh. Another one that just has to be experienced, like Haruhi. Except this one is more like a shroom trip.

I hope you tards branch out more. Liking only Naruto and Bleach is like only playing Call of Duty and Halo. You aren't a gamer, and you aren't an anime fan. Be smart, please.

I know a guy who likes Ouran. He also writes for GatorAIDS. I'll let you figure out who it is! :3

:O

People in the US don't really know about Haruhi Suzumiya yet, save for the ones with actual good taste in anime. I pray it never shows up on Adult Swim so it won't be cheapened.

Was FLCL on Cartoon Network? Or maybe G4? I am pretty sure Jason made me watch it once. I don't really remember it so I must not have liked it.

FLCL was indeed on Cartoon Network for a while. It never got Narutarded, thank goodness.
